Former Louisville forward Chane Behanan will transfer to Colorado State, according to online reports. Behanan will have one year of eligibility remaining when he suits up for the Rams next season.
The former UofL star told Bleacher Report that he enrolled in online classes at Colorado State but remains in Houston undergoing treatment for personal issues with former NBA player John Lucas’s program. Behanan told the website he will stay in Houston throughout the spring and move to Colorado this summer or fall. So far this season, the Colorado State Rams are 3-4 in the Mountain West Conference and 12-8 overall on the season.
The Louisville program dismissed Behanan from the team on December 30 for violating university policy. Although his time at UofL didn’t end particularly well, Behanan said in a tweet today that there was no love lost between he and the program.
Louisville looks to have figured out how to overcome the loss of Behanan, and strangely enough, the solution was benching his replacement, Wayne Blackshear. Since Blackshear started coming off the bench three games ago, he’s averaged 16 points and 4.3 rebounds a game. Pair that with the fact that Terry Rozier stepped up quickly in the absence of Chris Jones, and the Cardinals are looking like a strong team.
