The Louisville Cardinals had their chances but could never really get the big hit against Vanderbilt. Saturday night the Commodores beat the Cardinals 5-3 in the opener of the College World Series. Vandy scored three runs in the second inning and never looked back. Louisville never led in the game, leaving 9 runners on base. It is the first time in four games the Cardinals have lost to Vanderbilt. The C.W.S. is double elimination so UofL will next meet Texas Monday at 3pm. The loser of that game will call it a season.
