Cards finally get a signature win
01/19/2014 09:23 AM
The Louisville Cardinals have a nice record at 16-3, but up until last night the Cards resume did not have a truly defining win. That changed when UofL went into Storrs, CT and knocked off UConn 76-64. Forward Montrezl Harrell was dominant with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The Huskies might not be ranked but they had previously beaten Florida and Memphis while Louisville had lost its 3 games against ranked opponents: Kentucky, North Carolina and Memphis. However, last night the Cards dominated play and led most of the way. Guard Russ Smith added 23 points for the Cards who have now won five of their last six games. UofL next plays at South Florida on Wednesday.
