Now that the 2012 NFL regular season has come to a close, NFL free agent Brian Brohm should be afforded an opportunity to compete for numerous starting and backup NFL QB positions during the off season. In particular, Brohm’s agent should make a case for Brohm to replace several inept starting NFL QB’s whose teams finished the 2012 season with below .500 records and/or replacing backup QB’s that appear to be at the end of their careers and/or do not give their respective teams a chance to win. Those QB’s with targets on their backs should be: Mark Sanchez, Brandon Weeden, Brady Quinn, Chad Henne, Matt Cassel, Blaine Gabbert, Carson Palmer, Nick Foles, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Michael Vick, Jake Locker, Matt Hasselback, Ryan Tannehill, Josh Freeman, Jason Campbell, Rex Grossman, Matt Moore, Tarvaris Jackson, Tim Tebow, Kyle Orton, Charlie Batch, Byron Leftwich, Matt Flynn, Joe Webb, Graham Harrell, Chase Daniel, Matt Leinart, Josh McCown, Curtis Painter, Matt Simms, Tyler Thigpin, and Greg McEroy. I understand that the NFL is not about ‘fairness’, but the NFL should be about ‘winning’. At the University of Louisville and in the Big East Conference Brian Brohm proved himself as a starter and as a winner. His winning potential as a NFL QB has not diminished—with his experience in the UFL, his potential has only improved. This should be the year for the NFL to give Brian Brohm a legitimate shot at his dream and to prove the naysayers wrong, and to give Brohm’s fans an opportunity to see him play. Comments welcomed.
