Brian Brohm: From Pro QB to WKU Assistant Coach
02/18/2016 08:00 PM
Brian Brohm has had a great career as a college and professional quarterback. Now the former UofL star is entering the next phase of his career. Recently Brohm, who played for the Cards from 2004-2007, was named quarterbacks coach at Western Kentucky. The move reunites him with his two brothers. Jeff is WKU’s head coach while Greg is the Hilltopper’s Director of Football Operations.
While Brian has had years of experience playing the position, this will be his first time coaching quarterbacks. However as he told me in a one-on-one interview, he looks forward to the challenge. WKU is rebuilding at quarterback, with the graduation of record setting QB Brandon Doughty. Doughty, by the way, is taking part in the NFL Combine, hoping to turn the heads of scouts, coaches and general managers.
As for Brohm, one of the first things I asked him is how the whole process of him going from pro quarterback, to assistant coach, came about.
