BENGALS | LaFell, Dalton Becoming Fast Friends in Cincinnati

Since being signed by the Bengals in late March as a free agent, Brandon LaFell has wasted little time getting to know the offense and his new quarterback Andy Dalton.

LaFell who was released after a lackluster 2015 in New England, was quick to heap praise on his new QB. “ I thought he was a pretty good quarterback, I didn’t think he was this good.”

The LaFell signing came on the heels of Cincinnati watching Muhammad Sanu and Marvin Jones ink big money deals with other clubs this off season. So, needless to say, Brandon will be counted on heavily as he will line up opposite AJ Green this coming season.

Dalton has also been extremely happy with the addition of LaFell saying “…it feels like he has been here awhile not having to repeat things and not having to do a whole lot of teaching with him. He’s got a good understanding of what we are doing already.”
Communication between Dalton and his receiving corp will be tantamount this season as the offensive unit will be under pressure to learn new Offensive Coordinator Ken Zampese’s system.

Zampese was named OC in January to replace the departing Hue Jackson who was tabbed as the head man in Cleveland. Zampese had been the Bengals Quarterbacks Coach since 2003.

The Bengals open preseason play on August 12th as they host The Minnesota Vikings.

Bengals 2016 Preseason Schedule:

  • August 12 Minnesota Vikings

  • August 18 at Detroit Lions

  • August 28 at Jacksonville Jaguars

  • September 1 Indianapolis Colts
