Ballard High School will return to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2010 after knocking off Trinity 57-46 in the seventh regional tournament. The second-ranked Bruins used a big third-quarter run to knock off the defending champions and top-ranked Shamrocks, avenging last year’s 58-55 region semifinal loss. Future Card Quentin Snider had a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Ballard, while Darryl Hicks had 18 points and six rebounds to lead Trinity.

The Bruins will open Sweet Sixteen play Thursday night at 6:30 against Johnson Central at Rupp Arena.
