Report: WKU to announce Monday it's joining Conference USA

Western Kentucky University’s Board of Regents are expected to vote Monday at a special meeting to join Conference USA, as the Bowling Green Daily News first reported Saturday morning.
The board of regents posted a notice of a special meeting for 11:30 a.m. Monday to discuss “approval of recommendation related to university athletic conference alignment,” according to WKU’s special meeting agenda .
WKU has been a member of the Sun Belt Conference since 1982 in basketball, and its football program entered... Read more 
Clint Hurtt Notified By NCAA

University of Louisville assistant coach Clint Hurtt has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA, a UofL spokesman told Yahoo Sports’ Pat Forde Wednesday morning.
Hurtt, who recruited 2013 Heisman Trophy candidate Teddy Bridgewater to UofL from Miami, has been under scrutiny for his stint as an assistant coach at the University of Miami from 2007-09.
CBS Sports.com reported last month that Hurtt was on the verge of being notified by the NCAA, but that was delayed due to unethical conduct... Read more

Thank you for making cnǀ2 Day at the Kentucky State Fair an incredible success! We had a booth in the South Wing A lobby on Saturday, August 25th where we gave out cnǀ2 goodies and gave fair patrons a chance to pretend like they were giving the Kentucky State Forecast. Denny Crum Honored With Mural

Former UofL coach and Hall of Famer Denny Crum was honored with a mural on the Courtyard by Marriott building across from the KFC Yum Center before Sunday’s home game with Pittsburgh. Crum led the Cards to six Final Fours and two national championships during his tenure.

Ray Harper Named Western Kentucky Coach

Western Kentucky has decided to remove the interim tag from basketball coach Ray Harper. WKU athletics director Ross Bjork announced on Sunday that Harper would get the job full-time.
“We have total confidence in his ability to return our program to prominence,” Bjork said in a statement. “We put him in a very challenging situation by naming him our interim coach on January 6, but he has performed admirably in these unique circumstances while bringing much-needed energy... A busy weekend for Bluegrass basketball fans, as the Cards travel to Pittsburgh while the Cats welcome Alabama to Rupp Arena. It’s a must-win game for the cards, who have lost five of their last seven games. A New Era for Western Kentucky Basketball

The Ray Harper era began at Western Kentucky with a 67-65 loss to Troy at Diddle Arena on Saturday. Harper, an assistant coach under Ken McDonald, took over for McDonald, after he was let go last Friday.
