WKU Softball Makes History!

The Western Kentucky softball team entered the history books by earning a bid to an NCAA Regional for the first time ever. The Hilltoppers, who are 41-16 for the season, will face South Carolina Upstate in the Tuscaloosa Regional in Alabama on Friday. UK’s hopes of a lengthy run during the SEC softball tournament came to a crashing halt Wednesday night as 10th seeded South Carolina upset the 7th seeded Cats 6-3. After a 3 1/2 hour delay because of rain, the Gamecocks racked up four runs on three hits and one UK error in the top of the third inning to take a 4-1 edge and never looked back. NBA Arena Study Not Looking Good for Louisville

NBA fans have been trying to bring a pro basketball team to Louisville for more than a decade. But a new study shows – they’re still facing an uphill battle. The study, commissioned by Greater Louisville Inc., says among other things, that few corporations are willing to participate in funding the team and that scheduling games at the YUM Center could pose a problem because of UofL. The Lawsuit That Could Destroy the NCAA

A lawsuit that began in 2009 over the NCAA profiting off the likenesses of former athletes in EA Sports video games is gaining momentum. Former UCLA basketball player Ed O’Bannon filed the suit, claiming the NCAA should not be profiting from their names and images without sharing the royalty payments.
