James Quick has already racked up multiple accolades for his speed and talent in basketball, track and football. But he chose to pursue football at the University of Louisville and stay in his home town. Owensboro Catholic's Becca Greenwell at the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame

Owensboro Catholic basketball star Becca Greenwell was one of a handful of high schoolers inducted in last week’s Hall of Fame. Greenwell, who set a national record earlier this year with seventeen three-pointers in one game will be playing at Duke in the fall and even though she’s leaving Kentucky, she wants fans to still cheer for her.

Pervis Ellison Inducted into KY Athletic Hall of Fame

Former UofL basketball star Pervis “Never Nervous” Ellison was one of seven inductees Thursday night in the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame. Ellison, who was named the Most Valuable Player in the 1986 Final Four when UofL beat Duke for the championship, says he was thrilled with the honor, especially in a year when the Cards clinched the school’s third crown.

The Cards will take on the Hoosiers Saturday night at 8pm in a nationally televised game on ESPN. Junior outfielder and team captain Jeff Gardner, who leads the team in home runs this season, says he was thrilled when they took down rival Vanderbilt, and is looking forward to taking down another rival on Saturday – the Indiana Hoosiers.

Senior first baseman and team captain Zak Wasserman has experienced plenty in his four years on the UofL baseball team. Wasserman, who drove in the first run on Sunday in their 2-1 win against Vanderbilt, says their season is far from finished.

WKU Basketball Coach Ray Harper Previews Next Season

Western Kentucky basketball coach Ray Harper has added six new players for next season’s roster in his bid to win the Sun Belt Conference Tournament for a second year in a row and reach the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season.
Harper appeared in Shepherdsville earlier this week as part of the Toppers on Tour event, where he told reporters that next season’s team could be his best one yet.
