Louisville baseball lost their second game in two days as the Cardinals gave up 7 runs in the fifth inning en route to a 7-2 loss in their final game of the ACC Tournament. Junior Drew Harrington got the start for UofL and was cruising along until the start of the 5th inning when the Virginia bats chased the righty with seven straight hits. The 2016 KHSAA State Track Championship Meet held Friday and Saturday in Lexington and Brown School’s John Kolb came away a big winner. Kolb claimed the state title in the discus (174-03) for the third straight year and also claimed the state title in the shot put (53-11.50) for the second consecutive year. The Louisville Cardinals entered ACC Tournament play today against Clemson riding a 10 game win streak with starting pitcher, and reigning John Olerud Award winner, Brendan McKay taking the mound. The Cardinals jumped out to an early 2-1 lead and after a Colin Lyman single scored Devin Hairston, UofL led 3-1 after the 4th inning. On Friday, the No. 2 seed Louisville Cardinals will face No. 6 seed Clemson in the team’s second game of the ACC Tournament. The championship game will be Sunday at noon and the Cards are positioned to do very well in the run for the title. And with the NCAA Baseball Selection Show set for just one day later, the team is expected to receive a national seed.  Read more 

Louisville FC loses a fan favorite but it's for a very good reason

Goalkeeper Scott Goodwin announced thursday that he’s been accepted into Harvard Medical School. He’s going to stay with Louisville FC through the end of the summer before starting school in the Fall. Goodwin started all 30 games for Louisville FC’s inaugural season and this year he’s seen action in 6 league games. He was the saving grace in penalties in Louisville FC’s Open Cup Game against Detroit. Here’s what Goodwin and the Coach had to say at thursday’s announcement.  Read more
