The arrest of former UofL Guard Chris Jones sent shock waves throughout Card Nation and the nation as a whole. Over the past 10 days, the saga between Chris Jones and Louisville has been like a roller coaster of ups and downs. Jones was initially suspended for a game against Syracuse, returned a few days later for a home game against Miami and was subsequently dismissed from the program the following day. After a full day of developments related to the arrest of former UofL guard Chris Jones , Head Coach Rick Pitino addressed the media about Jones’ dismissal from the team. UofL Police Lieutenant Colonel Kenny Brown said in a press briefing that UofL police were called to Cardinal Town Apartments at 10:30am Sunday to a report of two women who had been raped. Brown said that one woman is a UofL student and the other is an online student at Western Kentucky University. On Feb. 17 while at a team dinner, Coach Rick Pitino was informed of a text message sent by Chris Jones to another individual. Chris was removed from the dinner table, immediately suspended from the team. Former University of Louisville basketball player Chris Jones was officially arraigned on charges of rape and sodomy at the Jefferson County Hall of Justice, Thursday. Jones was handcuffed and taken into police custody on $25,000 bond and was ordered no contact with both the alleged victims and co-defendants. He will be under house arrest.
