Lexington Mayor Jim Gray took the stage Tuesday evening to concede victory to Republican U.S. Sen. Rand Paul in his bid for a second term in office. Republican U.S. Senator Rand Paul was elected to a second term Tuesday defeating Lexington Mayor Jim Gray. Paul said in his acceptance speech that his victory is just one of many for conservatives this election night. Former US Senator Jim Bunning recovering from stroke

Jim Bunning suffered a stroke, earlier this week, at his home in Southgate, Ky. A statement released today says his wife Mary was with him as he was transported to St Elizabeth hospital. Bunning was moved from the intensive care unit into a transitional care unit Thursday night. Bunning, who turns 85 years old on Sunday, served as Kentucky’s junior U.S. Senator from 1999-2010. Kentucky special education ID rate higher than national average, but down from where it used to be

FRANKFORT – The Commonwealth of Kentucky is still above the national average in the special education identification rate for persons between the ages of 3-5, but that percentage has dropped significantly since 2005. That was the message from Office of Educational Accountability Analyst Brenda Landy to members of the Education Assessment and Accountability Review Subcommittee on Tuesday as her office submitted their 2016 Special Education Report.
