The UK track and field men’s and women’s teams are getting ready to hit the road, as both will compete in next week’s NCAA Outdoor Championships finals. The UK women’s team is ranked No. 4, and the men’s team is ranked No. 14 in the nation heading to the meet in Eugene, Oregon that will be held June 6-9. On Friday, University of Kentucky men’s basketball freshman forward Jarred Vanderbilt announced he will submit his name for the 2018 NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent. The Covington Catholic boys basketball team won the 2018 Whitaker Bank / KHSAA Boys’ Sweet Sixteen State Basketball Tournament on Sunday Afternoon. The Colonels defeated Scott County 73-55 to win the second title in the school’s history and the first since 2014. The Mercer County girls basketball team won its second consecutive state championship on Sunday afternoon inside Highland Heights’ BB&T Arena.
