Kaci is a Production Specialist based out of the Northern Kentucky Spectrum News bureau. When she’s not working at the station she is covering high school sports, Bengals or EKU games for Sports Night, which airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News. She played basketball for Hope College in Michigan where she earned a degree in journalism. She says if she wasn’t covering athletics for a living, she’d still be up early checking scores and stats. FC Cincinnati upsets Chicago Fire on penalty kicks

FC Cincinnati advances to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup after upsetting yet another MLS team. After 120 minutes of play, FC Cincinnati and the Chicago Fire moved on to penalty kicks with FCC coming out on top, 3-1. Cincinnati goalkeeper Mitch Hildebrandt stopped three shots by Chicago to secure the win. FCC took down the Fire in front of a crowd of 32,287 at Nippert Stadium. FC Cincinnati ties Charleston 2-2

It’s been a long week for FC Cincinnati. Since their 1-1 draw versus Charlotte, the club has announced new stadium plans, upset the MLS’ Columbus Crew and now battled Charleston in a rematch that resulted in a 2-2 tie. FC Cincinnati pulls off upset of MLS Columbus Crew

In a U.S. Open Cup fourth round match, FC Cincinnati pulled off a 1-0 upset of MLS club Columbus Crew. The match was the first meeting between the two Ohio clubs. FCC star striker Djiby Fall scored the games lone goal. He gave Cincinnati the lead with a header goal in the 64th minute. FC Cincinnati ties Charlotte 1-1

In his first start at Nippert Stadium, Justin Hoyte scored his first goal for FC Cincinnati. The equalizer gave Cincinnati momentum entering the second half but the match ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw. FC Cincinnati defeats LouCity FC to advance in US Open Cup

FC Cincinnati will advance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after defeating rival Louisville City FC 1-0 on Wednesday night. In the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup, FC Cincinnati will host Major League Soccer and fellow Ohio club Columbus Crew SC on June 14. On the match-up, head coach Alan Koch said, “it’s huge. FC Cincinnati wins third straight

FC Cincinnati improved their win streak to three games on Saturday by defeating Toronto FC II 1-0 in front of a crowd of 18,224. The win gives Cincinnati a 4-4-3 record as they move into fourth place in the Eastern Conference. FCC striker Danni Konig scored in the 18th minute with a header off a cross by left back Tyler Polak. Quintin Wilson excited to be a Kentucky Wildcat

On Mother’s Day, 2018 lineman Quintin Wilson announced his commitment to Kentucky via twitter. Wilson is a three-star center from Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio and chose UK over Cincinnati, Duke, Minnesota and Virginia among others. Wilson said something about Kentucky kept drawing him back and he ultimately couldn’t stay away. The offensive lineman was impressed by the coaching staff at UK and said it felt like family from the beginning.  Read more

F.C. Cincinnati advances in U.S. Open Cup after 1-0 overtime win

It was a long night at Nippert Stadium without a goal scored until the 115th minute. In the second overtime period, Djiby Fall headed a game winner to defeat AFC Cleveland and advance F.C. Cincinnati to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. FCC finished with 44 shots to Cleveland’s six. 16 of Cincinnati’s 44 shots were on frame. Djiby took at least 15 shots in his return to the field. FC Cincinnati frustrated by officials in 2-0 loss

In a frustrating match for both FC Cincinnati and Orlando City B, FCC fell 2-0 on their home field. In his opening statement after the game, Head Coach Alan Koch said, “I’m not allowed to speak about the refs so I won’t… We preach consistency to our players… we expect the same from officials.” The match included nine yellow cards, including six for FC Cincinnati, as well as 35 total fouls.
