Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer. He now produces Sports Night, the state’s only nightly show dedicated to in-depth coverage of all sports in Kentucky. Sports Night airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News or anytime with Spectrum On Demand. Outside the station, Garrett enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and prides himself on being all-in as a sports spectator. He won a gift card for playing an air guitar in the student section during an MTSU basketball game. Jake Taylor living out a dream that was once in doubt

University of Louisville pitcher and first baseman Brendan McKay continues to add trophies to his busting trophy case. This time, McKay has been named the National Player of the Year by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. FC Cincinnati pulled off a very important win last night, taking down rival Louisville City FC in the US Open Cup. The orange and blue beat Louisville City 1-0, and the win earned them hosting duties for the next round of the cup when the team plays MLS side Columbus Crew. FCC goalkeeper, Mitch Hildebrandt joined Sports Night this evening, and said with the goal of becoming an MLS club themselves, FCC can make a strong argument against Columbus.  Read more

The University of Louisville baseball team earned a national seed in the NCAA tournament for the third year in a row today. The Cards will host Radford, Xavier, and Oklahoma this weekend for a chance to advance to the NCAA Super Regional. Louisville is the seventh overall seed, which is a much higher seed than many expected.
