Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer. He now produces Sports Night, the state’s only nightly show dedicated to in-depth coverage of all sports in Kentucky. Sports Night airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News or anytime with Spectrum On Demand. Outside the station, Garrett enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and prides himself on being all-in as a sports spectator. He won a gift card for playing an air guitar in the student section during an MTSU basketball game. Brian Brohm is entering his second season as a college football coach, this year it’s as the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator at Purdue under his brother Jeff Brohm. The Boilermakers have a history of fantastic quarterbacks that went on to NFL success, and the Brohms are hoping to bring the program back to national relevance. U of L Board of Trustees approves university lease agreement with KFC Yum! Center

In Thursday’s University of Louisville Board of Trustees meeting, the members approved changes to the school’s lease agreement with the KFC Yum! Center. The university agrees to pay $2.4 million more per year toward the arena debt, and will also cede control of future dates. Seven Louisville trustees voted in agreement to the new deal, two voted against, and four members abstained from the vote. Western Kentucky quarterback Mike White is earning some more national recognition. The hilltopper QB is now on another preseason watch list, but this one is for his efforts off the field. White is in preseason consideration for the Wuerffel Trophy. Louisville linebackers James Hearns and Trevon Young are expected to compete for “best linebacker in college football” this season, and has now accordingly been named to the Dick Butkus Award Watch List. The U of L Redshirt Senior emerged as one of the best pass rushers in the country last season.
