Kevin Knox named to Julius Erving Award Preseason Watch List

Kentucky freshman forward Kevin Knox has been named to the preseason watch list for the Julius Erving Award, which is presented to the top small forward in the country. Knox is one of 20 players named to the watch list and is looking to become the first winner of the award in school history. Knox was a top-10 prospect in the 2017 class. As a senior at Tampa Catholic, he averaged 28.5 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.  Read more

The Kentucky Wildcats have been picked to win the 2017 SEC championship by members of the media. This is the 13th time since 1998 that Kentucky has been the overall preseason favorite. Two Wildcats are on preseason All-SEC teams. Freshman guard Hamidou Diallo has been named to the preseason All-SEC first team and freshman forward Kevin Knox has been named to the All-SEC second team. Josh Allen named Midseason All-American

Kentucky junior linebacker Josh Allen has been named a Midseason All-American by the Associated Press. Allen was named to the second team and is the only Wildcat to receive the honor. Allen is having a strong junior season. He is tied for first in the SEC in sacks with seven and is fourth on the team in total tackles with 36. Hamidou Diallo named to Jerry West Award Preseason Watch List

Kentucky freshman guard Hamidou Diallo has been named to the preseason watch list for the Jerry West Award, which recognizes the top shooting guard in the country. Diallo is expected to be a major contributor for the young Wildcats. He is one of 20 candidates on the preseason watch list. The watch list will be cut down to 10 players by mid-February. The Kentucky Wildcats are fresh off a bye week and must now prepare to travel to Starkville, Mississippi for a match-up against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday. Jarred Vanderbilt's mindset heading into the season

Kentucky freshman forward Jarred Vanderbilt will miss the beginning of the season with a foot injury he suffered in late September. Last week, John Calipari said that Vanderbilt’s injury would be re-evaluated soon and he could return sooner than expected.
