UK Volleyball: Craig Skinner Previews the 2017 Season

The Kentucky volleyball team is preparing to make a run at a national championship this season. The Wildcats enter the season ranked No. 14 in the preseason AVCA Coaches Poll. This Kentucky team features a lot of returning experience and depth, highlighted by seniors Kaz Brown and Ashley Dusek, as well as sophomore Leah Edmond. Former Kentucky safety Marcus McWilson is hard at work at Oakland Raiders training camp in hopes of making the 53-man roster to start the regular season. After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL draft, the Raiders signed McWilson in early May. Last season, Kentucky finished .500 in the SEC (4-4) for the first time since the 2006 season. The last time Kentucky finished above .500 in conference play was in 1977. The Wildcats went 6-0 in SEC play that season and finished the year with a 10-1 record.
