The Eastern Kentucky Colonels have announced plans for fan events the day before the annual Maroon and White Game on April 28. A football golf outing will be held on Friday, April 27, as well as the ninth annual football reverse raffle in which fans will have the chance to win $10,000. Lexington high school student accidentally injured by firearm on campus, faces criminal charges

A student at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington now faces criminal charges after being accidentally injured by a firearm on campus Friday morning. School officials say no one else was hurt in the incident and the student is receiving medical care. Multiple agencies conduct active shooter exercise at Louisville high school

Gunshots rang out on the campus of Holy Cross High School in Louisville today, but, fortunately, it was only a drill. Metro Louisville emergency services conducted active shooter training in light of recent events at schools across the country. The full-scale exercise involved agencies like SWAT, fire and EMS, as well as faculty and students who volunteered to participate. On Tuesday, the NCAA announced that it will uphold its original ruling, vacating wins within the University of Louisville basketball program and ordering the university to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
