A commission led by former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has delivered significant recommendations to the NCAA, following an FBI investigation that resulted in the arrests of multiple people connected to college basketball. The recommendations include eliminating the league’s so-called one-and-done rule, which prevents college players from signing with the NBA until they are at least 19 years old. The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team will head to the Bahamas in August. Fans heading to Churchill Downs during Derby Week should make note of changes to the track’s admission gates. An announcement on Thursday outlined newly-named entry points, which reflect locations inside the venue. Those gates include the new Paddock Gate, the Clubhouse Gate (formerly Gate 10) and the Infield Gate (formerly Gate 3). The NCAA has dropped its claim against former University of Louisville program assistant Brandon Williams in relation to its investigation of sexual misconduct within the men’s basketball recruiting program. An NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions had found that Williams did not fully cooperate with their investigation because he did not provide requested phone records which the committee alleges could have determined whether or not he was involved in the scandal. Former University of Louisville senior guard Quentin Snider has been chosen to participate in the annual Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship in San Antonio, Texas March 30 – April 1.
