Andrew is a sports anchor and sports managing editor for Spectrum News. He covers sports all across the state of Kentucky for Sports Night, which airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News and anytime with Spectrum On Demand. Andrew was a sports anchor and reporter at KFDM/KBTV in Beaumont, Texas for four years before making the move back home to the Midwest. He is originally from Carmel, Indiana and majored in broadcast journalism and political science at Syracuse University.

When he’s not on the air or in the field covering sports, you can likely find Andrew playing golf, watching IndyCar and Formula 1 races, or exploring the state of Kentucky. His favorite sport is open-wheel racing. In fact, he has not missed an Indianapolis 500 since the early 2000s.

UK BASKETBALL | Women's Basketball Program Ranked Top 15 in Attendance Last Season

The UK women’s basketball program ranked 15th in average attendance during the 2017-2018 season, after averaging 5,187 fans per game. it’s the ninth straight year that the Wildcats have ranked in the top 15 in average attendance nationally. NASCAR | Kentucky Speedway Preparing for NASCAR Weekend

The annual NASCAR weekend at Kentucky Speedway is getting closer and closer. It will take place in less than a month, from July 12-14 at the 1.5-mile oval in Sparta, Ky. The marquee event will be the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ Quaker State 400, which will start at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 14. Martin Truex, Jr. is the defending race winner. UofL BASKETBALL | Cards to Play in Las Vegas During Thanksgiving Weekend

The Louisville women’s basketball team will take part in the 2018 South Point Thanksgiving Shootout. The event, which is set for Nov. 23 and 24 in Las Vegas, includes eight teams: Arizona St., Baylor, Buffalo, Georgetown, Hartford, Louisville, South Dakota St. and Southern Illinois. Game times and opponents will be announced at a later date, along with room rates for fans. Stanford graduate transfer Reid Travis announced on Wednesday that he will transfer to Kentucky to pursue a master’s degree. UofL BASEBALL | McDonnell Excited for Future of Program

Last week, the University of Louisville Athletic Association Board of Directors approved new contract terms for UofL baseball head coach Dan McDonnell. McDonnell has led the Cardinals to four College World Series appearances (2007, 2013, 2014, 2017) during his 12 seasons at Louisville.
